Card Minting

Card Minting Process

In DevPool, one way to receive payment is by minting a virtual Visa or Mastercard. These virtual cards provide a convenient, secure, and easy method to access your funds after your contribution is accepted.

How It Works

When your pull request in UbiquityOS is accepted and merged, you’ll receive a reward permit URL. This URL directs you to the Ubiquity Rewards app, where you can choose from various reward options, including minting a virtual Visa or Mastercard.

If you opt to mint a virtual card, your full reward will be converted into a redeem code. Follow the instructions provided with the code to activate and use your virtual card.

Virtual Card Options

Through our partnership with Reloadly, we offer a range of virtual Visa and Mastercard options. Our system automatically selects the best card for you based on your location, card features, and availability. If the top-tier card isn’t available, you’ll be offered the next best option.

The highest-quality cards we offer are tokenized Mastercards with international capabilities, providing enhanced security and a superior user experience. If these are unavailable, you’ll be offered an international Visa card or a local Visa/Mastercard. You can see the specific card available to you when you visit Ubiquity Rewards with your reward permit URL.

Fees and Discounts

Some virtual cards come with fees and potential discounts. The "Value" displayed on the reward permit page shows the amount available on the card after fees and discounts are applied. Currently, minting a virtual card uses your entire reward, but future updates will allow you to specify the amount you wish to load onto the card.

Limitations

Virtual Visa and Mastercard cards are subject to regulations and may not be available in all countries. If your country isn’t supported, you’ll be notified when you visit the reward permit URL, and you’ll be able to choose a different payment method.

Keep in mind that virtual cards may not be accepted by all merchants. There are no refunds for virtual cards, and they are non-exchangeable.
